Should I learn acoustic guitar before i learn electric?

14th November

Im thinking of learning to play electric guitar, but is it important that i need to learn acoustic first?

No, it’s not necessary at all. If you’re interested in the electric guitar then by all means start with it. That will keep you motivated and on the path to success. Good luck.

What are the most beautiful songs to Learn on the Guitar?

14th November

I have been playing the guitar for a while now and know a lot
of harder songs and few soft acoustic guitar songs. I would
love it so MUCH! if some (preferably girls) people could tell me some beautiful and good songs to learn to play that are soft.

For an Example: Hey there Delilah, Death Cab for Cutie.
That kind of tone of music.

Any good suggestions would be so helpfull
Thank you.

dashboard confessional- Hands down. I LOVE the accoustic version..
“Hands down this is the best day I can ever remember.
Always remember the sound of the stereo.
The dim of the soft lights.
The scent of your hair, that you twirled in your fingers.
And the time on the clock, when we realized “It’s so late!”
And this walk that we share together.
The streets were wet, and the gate was locked,
So I jumped it, and let you in.
And you stood at the door, with your hands on my waist.
And you kissed me like you meant it.
And I knew…that you meant it. ”

How can I learn to play the guitar?

11th November

I have always wanted to learn how to play guitar, but I have never been able to. We cannot afford an instructor, money is tight. I have tried the instructional books, but they have not helped me any. I cannot tune a guitar. Can anyone give advice on how to learn guitar?

I used this site:

http://www.zentao.com/guitar/guitar-lessons.html

It has a lot on the theory, how it works, etc. A lot of background information that you may want to jump around, but I found that it worked out for me.

This site is also one to check out:

Which instrument is harder to learn to play guitar or drums??

11th November

I started learning guitar but I didnt have any time to practice at the time so I quit temporarily but Ive heard drums is a lot easier to learn to play and I would love to play either from experience which one is easier to learn?

Go which ever one you like more. The more you enjoy it, the more you’ll continue playing, no matter how difficult.

Both have their difficulties. Drums, include much multitasking. You also have to be able to keep a steady tempo, because drums are the backbone of ANY band. Try air drumming to your favorite song, if you can move your hands and feet at different times, and still be in beat, then you can definitely play drums, even better would to try a friends drum set, if you have any that have one.

For guitar, you have to actually know notes, not just rhythms (though I guess you already know that since you play a little). For guitar, you need to think in different ways. I mean you have to think up and down the strings, and across, meaning you have to know where the notes are on the string, and how to play from one string to another, a good excercise is to play scales up the string, and then across them.

Hope this helps your decision
